Throughout July and August we saw and experienced an overwhelming and resounding ‘No to the Thames Sewage Pump’. Whilst many responses went directly, SOLAR gathered and handed in over 7,500 postcards, all rejecting the TDRA scheme. .
Alongside the postcards were countless letters and detailed rejections sent directly to Thames Water, demonstrates the depth of feeling and unified opposition to this scheme. As well as individuals, dozens upon dozens of local businesses also rallied their support, showing that this is a fight for everyone who values our lands and river
To all the volunteers and supporters who gave their time and energy, a heartfelt thank you. You were brilliant at all times of day, handing out postcards and answering questions, constantly facing the disbelief from residents asking, “I can’t believe they are proposing this.”
Whilst the Statutory consultation is over, we will refresh our campaign priorities, including ensuring we hold Thames Water to account for this overwhelming rejection of their scheme.
