Pressure is mounting against Thames Water’s controversial Teddington Direct River Abstraction (TDRA) scheme.
Both the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames have formally stepped up to oppose the project, calling out the heavy construction gridlock, environmental risks, and the threat to our cherished riverside green spaces.
Its really important that our local authorities stand with residents, however the council consultation responses alone won’t stop the “Thames Sewage Pump.” Thames Water is barreling ahead toward its formal Development Consent Order submission, ignoring real solutions to water scarcity and treating our communities river and land like an industrial building site.
We need a massive, unignorable wave of public pressure to force Parliament to look closely at these outdated, damaging infrastructure plans.
