We are pleased to be working alongside the team from the Mayors for a Drinkable Thames campaign, which is bringing together the Mayors from up and down the river from Teddington to campaign for a drinkable Thames. This means a river that people can swim in safely, where children can learn water sports without fear of illness.
The Treated Sewage Pump (otherwise known as Teddington DRA) would stop this ambition in its track as it would give permission for Thames Water to release forever chemicals, micro plastics, steroids and other such nasty stuff into the river whenever they feel they need to.
You can learn more and sign up to the Mayors for a Drinkable Thames by visiting their website here The team have also supported the development of a dashboard that shows the current water quality of the Thames, bookmark and re use this site to help you in your planning for river use.
